"Without Goals, and Plans to Reach Them, you are Like a Ship That has set Sail With no Destination" -- Fitzhugh Dodson

I've found that writing something down, whether it be a to do list or a quick memo to self, forces you to commit more to the words. So, I've decided that each month, I'm going to write out a list of goals I want to accomplish during that month. That way, I can focus on a short term list of ambitions as well as committing to achieving them. This is the lineup for this month:

1. Read one proverb from the bible daily that matches the date (i.e On the 3rd read Proverbs 3...), and find one or two versus that really stand out to my life. Write these down and tape them to the wall next to my desk for motivation.

2. Work out at least twice a week, no matter how crazy my schedule gets! The freshman 15 is unacceptable and should be avoided by any means necessary!

3. Call home more, remember that sometimes, everyone just needs to hear from me the same way I need to hear from them.

4. Read at least two books that aren't school related and are about or written by someone of another culture. This will help expand my vocabulary and make me more cultured, everyone loves a girl with culture!

5. Journal every night. This is a push seeing as how by the end of my nights the only thing I want to curl up with are my pillows, and not a journal; however, this is necessary. I want to be able to look back 10, 20, even 30 years from now and compare where I was to were I am.

What are your goals for October?
